• Emanation as a human and achieving education from religious masters:

Consisted with the spiritual treasure, H.E. Khenpo Sange Rangjung Rinpoche, an eminent being with three higher moral trainings; morality, concentration and wisdom, was born on March 25, 1960 from Dawa Doma (Mother) and Tenngima (Father). When he was around two months, his father and mother called on highly reverent master H.H Dudjom Rinpoche in Kalingpong for his gracious blessings. He was then decorated with the name of Jigme Gyaltshen by this emmience Guru. The guru also made a decree that this child should in future be directed to the holy path of Dharma. At that time, His Holiness refuge master was distributing Jewel Treasure empowerment (Rinchhen Terzod), he was blessed with holy water from a vase with holy materials. Having been blessed with empowerment, as he was returning, there was no facility of transportation, he had to go on foot. Once when he was merely of four months, he was being carried by his father who were on foot. As they arrived at Tista, a hill was being dismantled, and it caused a loud noise, followed with a cloud of dust where he was missed. All fellow passengers and his parents thought that the child would not be alive. However, having been searched for some time later, to their great surprise, he was found alive under the dust and grains of pebbles. The next incident took place some days later, when his parents reached Siligudi, where a train arrived all of a sudden as they were crossing the railway track. Being scared, they threw him across the railway track. A thunder of wails and cries ensued there. However, amazingly, as if it were a magic he was found alive.

The another event was when guru fell very sick and had to be taken to Thupten Chholing Monastery located in Solukhumbu District, on the refuge of H.H. Thulshik Rinpoche, who was given all the accounts of his illness. The refuge master asked his parents to bring guru (a child at that time) three times. To reach the monastery at that time would take three days on foot; however, at the third times visits there poured him with the compassionate graces and well wishes.

When he turned four, he could notice the monastery built by his father at Thalkharka. The monastery was all dilapidated to remnants. This inspired him to take a firm determination that he would one day establish a monastery.

He started his basic education from his uncle (father’s younger brother) Lama Gonpo. Later, from the age of seven, in the year 1967, he was admitted at Samten Chholing Monastery for his formal education in Buddhism. In the year 1972, he was coronated with the honorific name Ngawang from H.H. Thulshik Rinpoche. In the fire dragon year of 1976, he lived in Pharping, Kathmandu at Yangleshyo, Rigzin Dubpi Gachhal Monastery of highly reverent H.H. Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, and achieved the knowledge of Lama(Guru), Tutelary diety(Isthadeva), the sky flying wisdom deity(Khandro) etc. through his chanting of the mantras as well as through his meditation. His Holiness Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche furnished him with a blessed name Sange Rangjung. During his stay in the monastery in Pharping, he undertook the responsibility of monitoring the monastery and performing the worship every two months. In this tenure of his work, His Holiness happened to establish an idol of Buddha; hence His Holiness with his compassionate grace predicted, “ The auspicious occasion of the Buddha idol establishment during your tenure as a worshipper is a good sign indicating that you shall be a noble vikshu in future.”

H.E. Khenpo Sange Rangjung Rinpoche had obtained a great opportunity to learn from the disciple of the Refuge Master H.H. Chatral Rinpoche. The disciple, Mipham Lama, taught him, through the ritual of Dudjom Thakthung, the tune and melody of the wrathful black female deity(Krodhakali), Dudjom treasure of wisdom, Tantra tune or melody etc. Henceforth, he had learned ritual cakes of the heart essence from Vajra master Chhyoing Dorje, peace & wrathful prayer from Kathoks etc. Similarly, he went to Deheradun in 1977 as per the decree of His Holiness Refuge Master in order to be bestowed with valuable great wisdom of treasure from His Holiness Dilgo Khentshe Rinpoche at Mindroling Monastery. In this process, he obtained teachings from great scholars there, specially Chandrakriti Teaching Madhyamak Alangkara etc. from Khenchhen Chondu. Reverent Khenchhen, on being requested to teach Tibetan Grammar advised him to read by heart ‘Mulsutra’(Root Teaching), which he acknowledges. However, he states that he was not fortunate enough at that time to learn more due to the funeral rites of omniscient Longchhenpa on the 18^th  of 12^th Month as per the Tibetan Year.

His Eminence studied many philosophies, Sutra, Tantras etc. from Khenpo Daser and Dukchhyung in 1979, the sheep year. Once when he got an occasion to call on Khenpo Dukchyung in an orange jacket, which honourable Khenpo with his pleasure asked him as to where the jacket was purchased. All at once, he took it off, and offered it to Khenpo Dukchyung, who was much pleased to see his such graceful activity. It was a great time for His Eminence to earn the virtues of righteousness. He went to Darjeeling in 1980, the Iron Monkey Year. It was the place of His Holiness Jigme Thupten Shedub Chhyoki Dayang Palsangpo, Thegchyog Namdrol Shedub Monastery, where he was blessed with the Tibetan Grammar, the interpretation of (Bodhicharyavatara) is deeds practice and its final portion, Pragya Paaramita( All Knowledge), Bodhisatwa etc. from honourable Khenchhen Pema Sherab. It was the year 1981, the year of Iron Bird, when he received the accompaniment (Ngagyur Tholob Dongag Rigpi Jyungneling) of prominent gurus like Khenchhen Pema Sherab, Khenchhen Namdrol, Khechhen Chhewang Gyamchho etc., who imparted him the lore of Sutra Tantra and the principles of Nyingma Sect.

Highly Honourable Khen Rinpoche taught primary level students – reading, writing and Tibetan Grammar from 1982 till 1987. Apart from this, he rendered his sincere service as a captain(Geko) throughout 1983 and 1990. Apart from these, he attained monk vows accomplishing all rituals among many monks with the grace of Refuge Masters accomplished H.H.Pema Norbu Rinpoche and Khenchhen Pema Sherab Rinpoche in the Rabbit Year 1987. Having received vows, he was given the title of Thupten Ngawang Dakpa. In the same year, he was appointed by Gurus as a university teacher, and granted the privilege of teaching various philosophies with regard to Nyingma traditions. Gradually, with the accomplishment of higher education, his health status deteriorated, and he had to undergo a surgical operation. Having worked for not more than six months, he was granted a leave in order to come to Nepal, where he performed the Vajrakilaya Mantra chanting for three months. Furthermore, he paid a visit to Asura, Swayambhu, Boudha and so on so forth pilgrimages, upon each he spent a month for long chanting. 

He set out for India again in 1992, where in schools he carried out his diverse responsibilities along with facilitating as a teacher to Shedra Monks with concern to debates, Middle Way Rhetoric’s, Engaging in Scholar, Root Wisdom, History as well as many other Buddhist philosophies, history etc. rigorously he served as the controller of examination as well.

Middle Way Empowerment, Oral Transmission and Moral Teaching Undertaking

Honorable Khenpo, following the guidelines of His Holiness Emperor Wish Accomplished Guru, executed his responsibilities in line with higher education acts. Finally, in the year of 1994 (Wood Dog Year), on 13^th of the first month as per the Lunar Calendar, he was enthroned as the Khenpo by the highly eminent scholar Guru, emperor Penor Rinpoche on the auspicious occasion of the Sutra and Tantra governed system. The event was characterized by the presence of many dignified monks and devotees. Similarly, he received empowerment, Oral Transmission, Teachings, Transmission of preciously Great Treasury, Transmission of the main book of Heart Essence, the lakh teachings of Mipham, the lakh teachings of Paltul, the Oral Transmission of the Seven Treasuries etc. by H.H Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche. Similarly, he was granted all teachings of the Great Treasury, the Empowerment of the Great Treasury and Oral Transmission except for the contents of Dharma protectors, by the Refuge Master Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche in accordance with the rituals of Dudjom Lingpa first and Jigdal Yeshe or Garwang Dodul Lingpa. On top of these, he took over the Empowerment of the main text of the Heart Essence, the seven Treasuries, the most valuable Great Treasury and the Four Heart Essence from His Holiness Dodubchhen Rinpoche.

In the same process, he was graced by the most Venerable Refuge Master, the all accomplished H.H Penor Rinpoche with:  

• The Empowerment of Dharma.
• The collection of three Wisdom Treasures.
• The Oral Transmission of Gurdag Pema Shyawari(Vajra Armour)
• The Oral Transmission of Prajnaparamita (The All Knowledge)
• The Empowerment of Magical Peace and Wrathful Deity.
• The Empowerment of Manjushree Worship.
• The Teachings of the Sky Treasury Transformation Buddha.
• The Preliminary Practice.
• Naadi and Prana (Channel and Wind Element)
• The Empowerment of Great Perfection.
• The Empowerment of the Heart Essence.
• The Oral Transmission and Empowerment of Peace and Wrathful Deity etc.

The supremely Venerable, His Holiness Taklung Tsetul Rinpoche aslo furnished him with:

• The Oral Transmission of the Heart Essence Main Text.
• The Empowerment of the entire text of the Heart Essence.
• The Empowerment of the Three Roots.
• The Empowerment of the Northern Treasure (Jyangter) etc.

In the same way he was bestowed by the all accomplished His Holiness Guru Tulsik Rinpoche:

• The Empowerment of the Heart Essence
• The Empowerment of Guru Longchhen Nyingthik.
• The Teachings of Dilgo Khentshe Rinpoche.
• The Teachings of Nyingthik Palchen Dupa.

Similarly, he received the Great Perfection, the Empowerment of Lama Yengtik and the gem of wisdom Realization from His Holiness Jigme Funtshok Rinpoche. Furthermore, he attained the Empowerment of Gesar, the Self Treasury of His Holiness, the Empowerment of Phurba Gurkhukma and many more. He also received the Oral Transmission of the Sky Treasury and its Empowerment, the biography of Khenchhen Ngagi Wangpo, the middle way rhetorics etc. From the extremely honourable eminent refuge master Gyankhang Thupten Palsang Rinpoche. Apart from these, he earned from November 3^rd to 10^th (2014) Ratling Thugdop Yangnyindu Empowerment, Guru Wrathful Empowerment, Vajramala, Tagon and other Empowerments within it the teachings of Guru Chintamani, the teaching of the Heart Essence, the preliminary practice of great compassion from the secret Tantra, the preparation of Empowerment etc. from honourable Khenchhen. Likewise, from the great perfection accomplished Guru Khen Rinpoche Thupten, he could gain the three vows; from khenchhen Daser Rinpoche he could study the infinite light rhetorics, various sutras, Tantras and philosophies. He also was educated from Palyul Khenpo Kunsang. From him, he was given the knowledge of Nyingma tradition principles, the knowledge of Omniscient scholar Jigme Lingpa’s Lakh Teachings, The Oral Transmission of Nine Volumes, and the Oral Transmission in a great deal of Sutra Tantras.

The Thiyik Yeshe Lama Sky Treasury, the Entire Teachings of the Enlightened Buddha, the Empowerment of Ratna Thothengchal, The Treasury of the ultimate and many more Transmissions were given to him by the honourable Refuge Master Domang Yangthang Rinpoche. The Magical Peace Wrathful Deity Empowerment, The Treasury of the Secret Essence, the Heart Essence from the Vidhyadhar collection etc. were blessed upon him by His Reverent Khenchhen Pechhe Rinpoche.

He achieved the knowledge, oral transmission, Sutras, Tantras, Empowerments and many more philosophies from Khenchhen Pema Sherab Rinpoche; for example: the Buddhist texts, the Tibetan Grammar, the three vows, the insights and Divine Accomplishment of the Bodhi Master, Teaching series, Oral Transmissions of the Holy Master etc.

From His Holiness Khenchhen Namdol Tshering, he received the Empowerment of the Tantra of the Secret Essence, Pragyaparamita Realization critique of Khenchhen Shenga, the critique of the Middle Way Rhetorics, the core Pragya Paramita, the Incarnation of the Bodhi Master and Nyingma History. The Oral Transmission of the Wishfulfilling Treasure, the Principle Treasure, the Mipham Treasure etc. was transferred upon him by Khenchhen Wangchhuk Sonam.

Khenchhen Jyamyang imparted him with the wishfulfilling treasure, the Pragyaparamitra of Tibetan reincarnating gurus, the incarnation of the middle way etc. Likewise, Khenchhen Chhiring Dorje provided him gracefully with the Eight Commandment science, through Dharma Guru Dudjom Rinpoche Reincarnation the New Treasury Empowerment of Dakini, through Tengpochhe Rinpoche the Oral Transmission of Dakini biography , its Guruyoga Empowerment, the Heart Essence and the Oral Transmission of Guru Accomplishment Critique.

In the same process, he received from previous incarnation Khamtul ‘The Naro six practices’ Oral Transmission; from reincarnated Rigzin Pema the Age Empowerment of Guru Vidhayadhar, the oral Transmission of Manjushree Religious Practice, and many more Sutras and Tantras.

He obtained the following graces from highly honourable Holiness Dephug Rinpoche Longchhen Yeshe Dorje:

• The Sky Treasury – The Empowerment of Amitabha
• The Empowerment of Sukhawati from Lokeshowra.
• The Empowerment and Oral Transmission of Silence Practice plus Karmatantra.
• The Empowerment and Oral Transmission of Dudjom Wrathful Deity.
• The Empowerment and Oral Transmission of the Northern Treasure.

On top to these he was graced by the fifteenth reincarnated Karmapa Rinpoche with: Lakh Teachings of Sakya Pandita, The Oral Transmission of three Volumes, The Empowerment of Gurdag and the practice of Saraswati Five Tunes Sutras.

From the reincarnation of Shakya Rinpoche, he obtained the Empowerment of Dorje Phagmo and the Oral Transmission of Supreme Transformation; from Ghopema Gyalchhen, he was grammar educated. From Master Urgen, he was taught epics, twelve links of interdependent connective consciousness; from Sakya Khenpo Kunga, he was instructed the Bodhi Master Incarnation; from Khenpo Palden Sherab he was taught the Treasury of the Ultimate.

Nyoshyul Khen Rinpoche, Khenpo Ngagi Wangpo and other accomplished veteran personalities with scholarly wisdom also contributed to his educational attainment, empowerment, teachings and oral transmissions regarding Nyingma Sect of Buddhism.

Contribution to All Well Beings with the Spread of Precious Philosophies of Buddhism without Controvery.

H.E. Khenpo Sange Rangjung Rinpoche dedicated himself to the hearing, concentrating and practicing yoga accomplishment in various Namdroling schools throughout 1982 to 1989 with the cognition of educational essence among students. He committed himself to the sector of education with the dissemination of knowledge amongst the students of many regions with regard to the philosophical teachings for higher academic sectors, where he instructed and inspired the aspirants in order to gain the knowledge of Tibetan and Indian Buddhist Scholars(he taught from 1987 to 1990).

He rendered his sincere service as a school teacher from 1991 to 1992, when he contributed his knowledge amongst high school pupils who were benefitted with The Three Vows, The Middle Way Life Incarnation, The Incarnation of the Bodhi Master and other innumerable scriptures of the Buddhist Philosophies. In the year 1993, the honourable guru taught from grade nine to graduate level pupils with regard to Three Vows, Shyechhen Gyalchhav’s Teachings, History and Sutra Tantra as profound subjects at Sechen Monastery, Nepal. Another great contribution he made was the establishment of Ngagyur Nyingma Palyul Urgen Dorjee Chholing Meditation Center in Pharping in the year 1995. The branch of the same monastery and school, Ngagyur Tholob Thubten Kunsang Thegchhog Rabgyelling, was also established more than a thousand pupils have already been given admission here. The honourable guru himself has been spending for more than 600 monks on their education, residence, food, uniforms and general medical expenditure. When dedicated and devoted disciples or pupils arrive at the His Holiness for empowerment and the Oral Transmission, he made an announcement that irrespective of their numbers, they should be provided with the empowerment and the oral transmission with the grace or permission of the accomplished master. Similarly, His Holiness has been at the service of many national and international devotees with the provision of the empowerment, the oral transmission and the teachings of Buddhist Philosophies through lectures by the grace of the directions he obtained from his gurus. When he reached his Venerable guru and stated that he had not given other empowerment other than peace deity, his accomplished guru ordered him to provide disciples with the oral transmission and empowerment of both the peaceful and the wrathful without making any differentiations. Hence forth, he has been working as per the direction of his guru in the provision of the oral transmission and the empowerment. Similarly, he has been establishing Buddhist centers in the national and abroad for the betterment of the devotees and disciples who have been instructed to carry out the activities like empowerments, oral transmissions, preaching’s of the great scholars etc. He himself has been actively participating in such holy missions for the well-being of the entire beings. Apart from this, he has played a vital role for the protection, promotion and practice of Buddhism in general, and the ancient knowledge of the Nyingma tradition in particular, for which he has accepted the president ship of Nyingma Buddhist Federation(organization) with the sense of immense compassion form 2009 to 2017. He is at present acting not only as a lifelong member but also as an advisor.

After his presidency, various programmes have been conducted annually in line with Nyingma Sect and many Dharma Gurus, Khenpos, Lopen, Lamas, nuns and other scholars have been invited for their precious participations in Nyingma World Peace Prayer Puja (Nepal Nyingma Great Prayer) Nepal. After the catastrophic devastation created by the megha earthquake of 2072 B.S, the honourable Khenpo carried out the following activities:

• The integration of Nyingma Sect of Buddhists.
• The relief and help rendering to various monasteries in co-ordination with Nepal Nyingma Federation and Palyul Federation in order to restore the renovation of the earthquake affected infrastructure.
• The assismilation of transmission prayer through Vajrasatwa (Dorsem Neden) and Dedication Prayer chanting with the compassionate feelings for the obtaining of happy land to the deceased ones by earthquake; this programme was organized by the Khenpo in collaboration with the fund by Palyul Federation and Nepal Nyingma Federation at Sherpa Service Centre(Monastery), Boudha, where the Khenpos, Dharma Gurus, Lopen and Lamas of all four sects of Himalayan Buddhists made their valuable presence.
• Contributing to Tashi Tshiring School in collaboration with Palyul and others.
• Assisting in the pilgrimage to various buddist pilgrims in co-ordination with Himali Sherpa Organization(Federation), as to which many Lopens, Lamas, Khenpos from Namdroling Monastery and other more than 100 devotees.
• During Such programmes, the honourable contributed to the entire expenditure during the first and the second year pilgrimages. He entirely contributed also to the establishment of Jongnang Ladang Palyul Federation.
• Honorable Khenpo made his contribution to the reconstruction projects of monasteries, idol construction, dilapidated monastery renovation, stupa renovation etc. in the aftermath of the destructive earthquake.
• In some monasteries, he offered the idols of Shakyamuni Buddha, Guru Padmasambhawa, Avaloketeshowara, Amitabha Buddha and other more than 23 idols.
• He inspired respectful devotees for earning merits(Dharma) and the reception of Aarhat distributed the printed pictures of Buddha, and the Tagdol.
• During his religious preaching, he suggested abandoning smoking, alcoholic drinks, and adopting pure holy feelings, directing our Karmas to social welfare etc.
• He kept himself engaged in various pious activities like preaching the teachings, empowerments, oral transmissions etc.

During the construction of Bouddha Mahachaitya, the work of Dharani Arpan was undertaken by Nepal Buddhist Nyingma Association. After the consecration & purification ceremony completion, again in 2017, in the first month of the Tibetan Calendar on 9, 10 and 11, with the investment of Guru himself and Chhoje Tulku Rinpoche; Sechen Rabjyam Rinpoche, Palyul Rigon Tulku Rinpoche, Khenchhen Chhewang Gyamtsho Rinpoche, Refuge Master Namkha Rinpoche, Jatul Rinpoche, Ladag Chhoje Rinpoche, Nyongshyul Khen Rinpoche Yangshi, Tulku Rinjin Pema Rinpoche and other Nyingma Sect gurus were invited to the programme of extensive life restoration accomplishment organized by Nyingma Federation.

Similarly, according to the Tibetan calendar, in the eleventh month, on the days from 10 to 15, various Dharma Gurus, Khenpos, Lopens, Lamas, nuns, etc. have been carrying out courtesy dedication prayer, Manjhushree Music Lessons, Tripranidhan(Monlam Namsum) and other chantings in various Nyingma Sect Monastries. Except for the inconvenience of time and the ill health, participants have been regularly participating in such programmes; along with their presence in dedication prayer programs in Bodhagaya in India.

In the year 2018 AD, on September 17, Monday, in the district of Dolakha at a place called Shyama So-dung, the longevity worship ceremony of Guru Vidhayadhar Prayer was organized; similarly, on the 18^th of the same month, the gem included in stone was given life restoration ceremony, on the 19^th, Guru Rinpoche Puja and Fire Puja etc. was organized. It was believed that these worships resulted in a good rain and good signals of rainbow. During 5 a.m to 7 a.m. on the 19^th, in order to reconstruct the earthquake affected monastery and to make land reformation, Mangal Chanting(Chanting of Good Wishes) was performed. On the very day, the worship and chantings of Rigzindhupa were organized at Pangleg to celebrate the building reconstruction accomplishment Ngagyur Nyingma Gem Monastery.

In the year 2010, The Urgen Chholing Dharma Centre organized various Tantric dances, empowerment performance, the fire worship of Mahanidhi Dapa Ngonshye Nidhi Dharma Red Kuber(Red Dzambala) etc. This events blessings of good luck signals were noticed by the devotees there.

On December 1, 2017, the life worship of Guru Vidhyadhar, dharma preaching and land worship were organized in the eastern part of Nepal, Illam, Phikkal at Palyul Dechhen Chholing Monastery. 

Similarly, on December 3(the same year), on the century celebration of Dorjeling Tongsum Sherpa Monastery, the life worship ceremony of Konchhog Chhyiduk, life restoration, dharma preaching etc. was accomplished.

The guru performed on the fifth of December a programme of sorrow Removal at Tashi Chholing Monastery at the boader of Nepal and India, Kakarvitta.

On December 1, 2008, Guru performed Krodikali (Thoma) worship in Kathmandu Sherpa monastery, where more than 500 devotees participated, on 3^rd December, he performed religious teachings, empowerment etc. in Jiri Sherpa Gumba, on 4 and 5 December, he performed the empowerment of Guru Vidhyadhar Dakini, Karsur etc. as well as the rituals of oral transmission in Jyangma Urgen Chholing Monastery, Ramechhap.

On November 18, 2005, a three day programme started in Eastern Nepal, Ilam Mabhu, Urgen Tengyeling Gumba. Here, The Empowerment of Guru Vidhyadhar, Dakini and Life Empowerment ritual were accomplished.

Similarly, on December8, 2008, the empowerment of Konchho Chidu, Gurdag Sensum, was carried out in Thotong Samten Chholing Monastery.

The land worship was observed on 9, December 2008, at Garjang Monastery. Then guru came to Pangleg, life restoration programme and the worship of guru Vidhyadhar were accomplished at Mani Monastery.

He, then, on 10, December organized stupa life restoration programme, Long Life Empowerment programme and Wrathful female Black Deity( Thoma Nagmo) Empowerment etc. in Sodung Samten Chholing Monastery at 1 O’clock.

In the year 2011, Khenpo visited New York for empowerment programme and preaching the teachings. He also visited New York Sherpa Federation Gumba in 2012 and performed the empowerment of peace wrathful deity, sixty internal teachings etc.

On August 7, he visited Atlanta in the USA where more than 700 devotees were benefitted by his preachings on Sutras, empowerment of Vidhyadhar guru, the oral transmission of Mani and Vajra Guru. 

On September 27, 2015, honourable guru visited New York Sherpa Community where more than 300 devotees got the privilege of attending his programme characterized by the Empowerment of Tara at Atlanta, Urgen Noralha Empowerment, Sorrow Abolition Programme in Dacadar and many more religious preachings.

Apart from these, Venerable Khenpo has been conducting such holy programmes in India and other countries where thousands of people have been blessed with empowerments and oral transmissions. He has played a vital role for the preservation, promotion and welfare of Nyingma and Palyul Sects of Buddhism. His emphasis on moral virtues, well beings of all living organisms, pious feelings etc. have inspired many devotees to follow the Buddhist philosophy for a healthy and long life.
